Water route


The water of Champéry is surrounded by history. Discover the particular properties of the Rumière spring. She made Champéry known at the time of the Grand-Hôtel de la Dent-du-Midi. The people taking the waters bathed and drank it. Take a trip back in time by following the route. An explanatory booklet is available at the reception desk.

The Dents-du-Midi tour


A pioneer of the Valais hiking tours (inaugurated in 1972), the Dents-du-Midi tour owes its reputation to the marathon run for nearly 40 years. The various cottages along the tour will allow you to organise your stops as you wish, to stay, have a meal or simply a refreshment.

The landscapes of the Dents-du-Midi with their striking contrasts will accompany you all along the well-marked and maintained path.

Lakes, waterfalls, torrents seem to be competing for your admiration with forests, rocky outcrops and mountain pastures. As you walk along the way, you will be surprised by the alarm call of a marmot, the delicate scent of a flower or the deep silence of the mountain in the early morning. Ibexes, black grouse, chamois, vultures and other wonders of our mountains will eventually convince you of the enchantment of this massif of the Dents-du-Midi.

It is thanks to Fernand Jordan that this tour was one of the first mountain marathons. Perfect for training the endurance and strength of Swiss army mountain soldiers, this tour was ideal for sports enthusiasts as well. The Dents-du-Midi marathon was organized for about forty years (created in 1962, last marathon in 2000), however it is still mythical today. The security constraints and the resources made available to organise an event of this scale were no longer sufficient. The record time is 4h21’20” made in 1991 by Pierre-André Gobet from Fribourg.

The Dents-Blanches Tour


Discover this Franco-Swiss itinerary combining medium mountains and alpine passages (2756 metres above sea level). You evolve on the limestone massif of the Dents Blanches overlooking the Haut Giffre valley (Haute-Savoie/France), and the Val d’Illiez (Valais / Switzerland).

The Ruan Tour


Another Franco-Swiss itinerary with 67km that allows you to discover the regions of Champéry, Salanfe, Marécottes/Salvan, Sixt/Fer-à-Cheval, Vallorcine and Finhaut-Emosson. An itinerary is available at the reception.

Hiking in Salanfe


Salanfe is one of the main hiking destinations around the Dents-du-Midi massif. The inn and the lake with the same name are located in the valley at the back of the Dents-du-Midi. It can be reached by car and thus save a lot of time to reach majestic peaks with breathtaking panoramas. A route plan is available at the reception desk.

In the footsteps of smugglers
