In 1965, 4 Swiss and 8 French resorts, pioneers of their time, joined forces to form the Portes-du-Soleil; an astonishing adventure shared between Champéry, Val-d’Illiez – Les Crosets, Morgins, Torgon, – Champoussin, Abondance, Avoriaz, Châtel, La Chapelle d’Abondance, Les Gets, Montriond, Morzine-Avoriaz, St Jean d’Aulps, etc.
Franco-Swiss ski area
Closest to Geneva and its international airport, located on the Franco-Swiss border between Savoie and Valais, this resort is part of the Espace Mont-Blanc. This gigantic domain is commonly considered as a “Natural Reserve of Powder”, shared between the Valaisan and Savoyard mountains, where the skier crosses preserved landscapes, without crossing the same piste twice during the day. It has an incomparable offer for beginners who have fun, up to professionals who train on the famous World Cup Alpine Skiing track in Avoriaz. A discovery of the incomparable mid and high mountains.

Les Portes-du-Soleil offers a unique ski experience
At Portes-du-Soleil, you ski in a special way: they talk about “ski safari” or a ski tour, from village to village, from valley to valley and from one country to another… The Hôtel Beau-Séjour de Champéry thus becomes an ideal starting point.
Because the ski lifts are scattered here and there, they do not spoil the splendour of the surroundings. Small woods and forests increase the feeling of closeness to nature.
